Chan Chan, known as the Nik-An Palace, is the political and administrative capital of the Chimú Kingdom. Its original extension was more than 20 km2; currently it covers only 14 km2, being considered as "The Longest Mud City in the World". On November 28, 1986, UNESCO declared Chan Chan a World Heritage Site. Huaca El Dragón, is an archaeological site belonging to the Chimú culture. This temple is surrounded by a wall whose decoration was dedicated to the Rainbow as a symbol of fertility. The Huanchaco Spa is a place where the Mochicas gave rise to ceviche, a dish of Peruvian cuisine of international recognition; cove of artisanal fishermen, where you can still appreciate the use of the ancient boats known as caballitos de totora.
