Huiscapuquio Thermal Baths Tour
The medicinal mineral source is located in the Suni natural region. It was granted in concession to Javier E. Andia from 1921 to 1939, who built a swimming pool and hygienic services. In 1939 it was recovered by the Peasant Community as its property. Huiscapuquio of Quechua etymology composed of two words; HUICHCA, which means closed and PUQUIO, Fuente, "CLOSED SOURCE" due to its original topographical configuration at that time, it resembled a cave without an entrance at the bottom of which water emanates, which is why it must have taken the name it bears. It was only at the end of the last century that its curative qualities became known, and some patients used it successfully in the treatment of their illnesses. Today it is highly appreciated for its wonderful results in relieving and curing gout and rheumatism. They are also of great digestive power, tonic, bicarbonated, litinated, ferrous, unsurpassed for conditions of the stomach, liver, kidneys, urinary tract, used as a bath and drink. Its entrance is a cave with a calcareous texture with calcareous stalactites and stalagmites with an appearance suggestive of arabesque contours and profiles.
