  • In Lima there are the two most important museums in this part of America and they show the best pieces and collections of pre-Columbian art from Peru and the New World.
  • Larco Museum: The only Viceregal mansion from the 17th century built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the 8th century. This fabulous museum has the exquisite “Gold and Silver of Ancient Peru” Collection and the famous Erotic Art Room. Its pieces are well known for being exhibited in the best museums in the world, being one of the few museums in the world that allows you to visit its vault of treasures, which presents more than 45,000 archaeological pieces classified by renowned specialists and scholars. The Larco Museum is the largest and most dazzling private collection of pre-Columbian Peruvian art in the world.
  • National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of Peru: Presented in a Viceregal mansion, the former place of residence of Viceroys and Liberators is considered the museum par excellence of Peru. Here are preserved the famous stone monuments of the formative period 1000 BC the "Stela Raymondi" and the "Obelisco tello". It presents the most important textile collection, which shows fabrics ranging from the pre-ceramic period to the Inca period. It also shows an important collection of metals from Ancient Peru. Its new "Tawantinsuyo" room stands out, presenting a summary of the 100 years of the Inca Empire, illustrated with models and virtual recreations.
