Half-Day Tour to Tipón, Pikillaqta and Andahuaylillas

- Visit the well-preserved Wari city of Pikillacta, predating the Inca.

Itinerary
Day 1
Half-Day Tour to Tipón, Pikillaqta and Andahuaylillas
- 07:00 - 07:30: Passenger pick-up service.
- 07:30 - 08:00: Transfer to Tipón to start the visit to the South Valley. This will be a walk through our history that will take you from the time before the Incas to the colony.
- 08:00 - 08:45: You will start your journey in Tipón, perfectly preserved archaeological sites located 27 kilometers from the city of Cusco. This place was dedicated to the cult of water and is considered a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering due to the impressive work carried out in the construction of the irrigation system that was used to maintain the crops of the twelve terraces that are still cultivated and the series of canals that still provide water to local populations.
- 09:05 - 09:55: Then continue to Pikillacta, that corresponds to the Wari culture, ancestor of the Incas. Among its 700 structures, covering more than 3 thousand hectares, there are stone and mud buildings of two and three floors, fine andenería and the head of a condor carved in a rock.
- 10:10 - 11:00: Finally, you will visit Andahuaylillas, a town located 40 kilometers from Cusco that has the Church of Andahuaylillas. Also called The Sistine Chapel of America, due to the high quality of the pieces of art found in it. A series of beautiful murals decorate its walls and ceiling, many of them of a didactic nature to teach the indigenous population about the Christian religion during the evangelization process in the 16th century.
- 11:00 - 12:00: After finishing your tour, return to your hotel.
