Full-day Tour to Pachacamac, Lima City and Lunch

  • This activity does not include the pick up from private residences (Airbnb). If you stay in them, please contact us days prior the start of the tour, in order to coordinate a meeting point for the pick-up.
Itinerary
Day 1
Full-day: Pachacamac Archaeological Complex including Lunch and Lima City Tour
  • 08:30 - 09:30: Pick up from your hotel.
  • 09:30 - 10:10: We start the tour with a pedestrian visit through Barranco and Chorrillos.
  • 10:10 - 10:40: Next, we will drive down the South Pacific Coast Highway to Pachacamac, the most important ceremonial center in the Peruvian coast during pre-Inca and Inca times.
  • 10:40 - 11:50: Visit Pachacamac was occupied by many different Andean civilizations such as the Lima’s, the Wari’s, the Ichma’s and finally by the Inca Empire. However, the Pachacamac Oracle always remained a religious center. We will see several pyramidal temples and enclosures from different time periods: the Adobitos & Old Temple (I C. A.D.), the painted Temple (VIII C. A.D.), a pyramid with a ramp (XIII C. A.D) & the Temple of the Sun (XV C. A.D.). Besides the ruins we will also visit an on-site museum displaying pottery, textiles, shell and stone ornaments, as well as the wooden Pachacamac idol found during excavations (1938).
  • 11:50 - 12:30: After finishing the tour to Pachacamac, we will go to a restaurant to enjoy lunch.
  • 12:30 - 14:00: Lunch.
  • 14:00 - 15:00: By afternoon, your tour will begin at Intihuatana Park at Miraflores cliffs. You can see the Pucllana Temple, a pre-Inca pyramid. Finally, you will be transferred to Lima's historical downtown.
  • 15:00 - 15:35: You will stop at the Main Square, located in front of the Presidential Palace, the Lima Municipality, and the Archbishop's Palace, beautiful colonial buildings. 
  • 15:35 - 16:10: Visit Santo Domingo Convent, one of our religious architectural complexes of the 17th century. It contains the relics of the three Peruvian saints, Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martin de Porres, and San Juan Macías, and a library with a collection of 25 thousand old books.
  • 16:10 - 17:00: After finishing the visit, you will return to your hotel.
