Itinerary
Day 1
CITY TOUR
- We will start the circuit in the Plaza Mayor visiting its main attractions such as: colonial houses, churches, prefecture and cell where the heroine María Parado de Bellido was imprisoned.
- We will also visit the ancient University of Huamanga, the Folk Art Museum, the INC Archaeological Museum and the Mirador de la Ciudad.
- Finally we will go to the artisan neighborhood of Santa Ana, where we will visit the workshops of altarpieces, weavings and stone carvings of Huamanga of the most famous artists.
Day 2
COMBINED EXCURSION WARI - PUEBLO AND PAMPA DE QUINUA
- We will visit the Archaeological Complex of Wari, capital city of the first Andean Empire. We will appreciate the Aqueducts, Tombs, Galleries, Streets, the Great Temple and the site museum.
- We continue towards Pampa de Quinua, where we will explain about the Battle of Ayacucho and appreciate the imposing monument of 44 meters high.
- We will visit the town of Quinua, where you can see how the artisans mold the ceramics in their workshops and taste the typical foods such as guinea pigs and pork rinds.
Day 3
TOUR TO HUANTA
- On the way we can see at a distance the cave of Pikimachay where the remains of pre-historical animals of more than 17,000 years BC were found.
- You will also appreciate the Ayahuarcuna bridge.
- Huanta is also known as "La Esmeralda de los Andes" because of the greenery of its countryside full of fruit trees such as avocado, lucuma, fruits, cherimoyas, etc.
- The city of Huanta offers tourists attractions such as its Plaza de Armas, the mother church, the convent and gothic church of the Redemptorist fathers, the fruit liquor factory.
- You can buy honey products and the delicious lucuma flour.
- Huanta also has country restaurants in Luricocha where you can taste the typical foods of the area.
