Day 1
CIUDADELA DE KUÉLAP
- After breakfast at 8 am we start our tour of the city of Chachapoyas, we go 3 hours by tourist bus to 72 km. southwest of the city of Chachapoyas, on the way you cross the slopes of Utcubamba, crossing the private reserve of Huiquilla, which has a magnificent panorama of the forest of mist.
- We arrive at María village of artisans, we will make a necessary stop to make the reservation of the lunches, since it is the closest place to the citadel of Kuelap.
- Then we went to a tourist parador, where we left the bus and started walking 25 minutes, finally arriving at the archaeological complex, which is the maximum architectural expression of the Chachapoyas culture and unique in South America.
- After the visit we return to María, for lunch and return to the city of Chachapoyas, arriving at 6 pm
Day 2
GOCTA CATARACT
- This day we visited the Gocta waterfall, the third highest in the world with 771 m.
- After breakfast at 8 am we start our trip, from the city of Chachapoyas to the town of Cocachimba (one hour trip by tourist bus), which is located 48 km away. In this place we will reserve the lunches, to then undertake a walk of 2 1/2 hours approximately, which can be alternated in horse 2 hours and walk the last half hour. The road is surrounded by exuberant vegetation such as bromeliads, mosses, ferns, orchids, etc. We can also observe the Cock of the Rocks in its natural habitat (recognized as the national bird of Peru) after the visit we return to the town of Cocachimba, to taste traditional dishes.
- Then we take the bus back to the city of Chachapoyas, arriving at 5 pm
Day 3
CAVERNAS DE QUIOCTA - SARCÓFAGOS DE KARAJÍA
- After breakfast, we begin our tour that begins at 8 am from the city of Chachapoyas, with the trip to the Canyon of Utcubamba. To then arrive to the cavity of Quiocta (2700 masl), we will travel 550 meters. In the depth of the cavern, it will be possible to appreciate stony formations such as the Stalagmites and Stalactites, in the first part we will observe human remains of Hispanic pres times.
- After an hour and thirty minutes of visit, we moved to the town of Lamud to taste traditional lunch.
- In the afternoon we continue the tour by tourist bus to the Andean community of Cruz Pata, where we start a 2 km walk. To visit the amazing sarcophagi of Karajía and unique in the world, for its unique form of construction, funerary statues located on top of a mountain, which is the maximum funerary expression of the Chachapoya culture. After the visit to this impressive place, we took the bus back to the city of Chachapoyas, arriving at 6 pm
Day 4
MAUSOLEO DE REVASH - MUSEO DE LEYMEBAMBA
- This day very early at 7 am we take a tour bus for 2 hours from the city of Chachapoyas to the Andean community of San Bartolo 2500 masl Where we left the bus, and we started a 40 minute walk to the pre-Inca cemetery of Revash where we can appreciate one of the most unique and important funerary patterns of the Chachapoya culture, our guide for an explanation of the history and the archaeological value of this impressive funerary place.
- Afterwards we moved to our bus and continued with our trip to Leymebamba for lunch at a community restaurant.
- After lunch we continue our trip for 10 minutes by tourist bus to the museum of the Mallqui center, where we can appreciate all the archaeological material that was rescued from the pre-Inca cemetery of the Laguna de los Cóndores in 1996, within this material we can appreciate more than 2000 archaeological pieces within them plus 219 mummies, 32 quipus dela Inca, various types of ceramics, textiles, we will also have 2 hours of guided tour, our guide will explain all this archaeological wealth that is preserved in this important museum region of.
- Then we take the return bus to the city of Chachapoyas arriving at 6 pm
