Itinerary
Day 1
Huaraz - Chiquian - Llamac 3300m.
- We will start the tour at 8:00 am approx. to the southern part of Huaraz. Passing through Recuay, Ticapampa, Catac and Conococha to 4100 m. Then we will travel to the east and southeast of Chiquián at 3400 m. where we can buy something, the trip takes 2 hours.
- Then we will descend for about 1 hour to climb to Llamac for about 1 more hour. During the tour we will observe the mountains in the east side like Ninashanca, Jirishanca, Yerupaja, etc. Arrival at Llamac at 2:00 pm where we will have a camping lunch during the night at 3300 m.
Day 2
Llamac - Pocpa - Cuartelhuain 4300m.
- After breakfast in the Llámac we will start the walk at 8:00 am, we will climb for about 4 - 5 hours next to the Husain Barracks field, along this route we will pass the small call Pocpa.
- Later we will arrive a small Pallca mine, arriving at the side of the camp around 2:30 pm approximately. From here we will see the Ninashanca mountain on the south side.
- Finally, we will camp at night at 4300 m.
Day 3
Cuartelhuain - Cacanan Pass 4700m. - Mitucocha
- This day after breakfast, we will begin our walk at 8:00 am from the Husain Cacanan Barracks at 4700m. We will go up to enjoy the sights around us like Chaupijanca and Cunchush.
- After this step we will go down for about 2 and a half hours to the camping of Mitucocha where we can enjoy the beautiful view of Ninashanca, Jarishinca and Rondoy mountains.
- End: We will camp overnight at 4200 m.
Day 4
Mitucocha - Carhuac Pass 4500m. - Carhuacocha
- This day after breakfast, we will begin our trek at 8:00 am to the south. We will climb for about 2 - 3 hours until we reach 4500 m. where we can enjoy the good assembly of Jirishanca on the south side.
- Then we will go down the road for about 30 min. to Lake Carhuacocha, Jirishanca, Yerupaja and Siula on the west side.
- End: We will camp overnight at 4250 m.
Day 5
Carhuacocha - Siula Pass 4850m. - Huayhuash
- After breakfast in the morning we will start our hike at 8:00 am We will go downhill for about 30 minutes near Lake Carhuacocha.
- During approximately 4 hours after the visit of this lake we will continue the ascent until passing Siula (4850m). During approximately 2 hours where we can see the mountains as: Jirishanca, Yerupaja, Siula and Butcher.
- After this we will go to Huayhuash for about 2 and a half hours where we can see trapeze riding on the west side.
- End: Camping at night at 4300 m.
Day 6
Huayhuash - Portachuelo Pass 4700m. Viconga
- After breakfast in Huayhuash we will have to start at 08:00 in the morning. After 1 hour of climb we will reach Portachuelo passing the 4700m. where we can enjoy the splendid views of Trapeze, Cuyoc and other mountains, after that we will start descending to Viconga for about 4 hours.
- Lunch during the walk.
- Afterwards, the tourist can go to the hot springs of Jatun Cocha. We will camp overnight at 4100 m.
Day 7
Viconga - Cuyoc Pass 4900m. - Huanacpatay
- After breakfast in Viconga we will start to climb Cuyoc up to 4900m, the highest step of the circuit, from here we can see the beautiful peaks of Puscanturpa, Cuyoc and Pumarinri glaciers.
- After enjoying the beautiful views, we will begin to descend Huanacpatay for about 3 hours approximately, where we will be able to enjoy the sunset of Cuyoc monte.
- We will camp overnight at 4250m.
Day 8
Huanacpatay - Huayllapa - Huatiac 4400m.
- After breakfast in the morning in Huanacpatay, we will begin to descend to Huayllapa for approximately 4 - 5 hours. This village is at 3400m, after visiting it we will begin to climb to Huatiac for approximately 3 more hours, where we can enjoy the beautiful views of the Mute Devil.
- We will camp overnight at 4400m.
Day 9
Huatiac - Yaucha Pass 4800m. - Jahuacocha
- After breakfast in the morning in the camp, we will cam up to the Tapush pass (4750m) for approximately 3 hours, where we will enjoy the view of the Mute Devil, after that we will go to Yaucha Pass (4800m) for approximately 2.5 hours , where you can see the beautiful mountains on the east side, such as: Jirishanca, Ninashanca, Yerupaja and others; after that we continued to climb Yahuarcocha for about 2 more hours.
- We will camp overnight at 4100m.
Day 10
Jahuacocha - Llamac - Huaraz
- After breakfast in Yahuarcocha we will start walking for approximately 1 hour, then we will go to Pampallamac (4300m) for 1 hour approx, in which we can enjoy the splendid views of the pleasant mountains such as: Yerupaja, Ninashanca, Siula and Diablo Mudo.
- Then descends to Llamac for approximately 1 hour, where our private transport will be waiting for us to go back to Huaraz (3 hour trip from Llamac to Huaraz).
