The Tambopata Ecotourism Corridor is located in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, just 15 minutes from the city. It emerged from the initiatives of former pioneers and residents of Madre de Dios.
In the Corridor quality services are offered in a responsible manner, combining the natural, cultural and environmental. Families have adapted their large plots of land to provide a site full of vegetation, fauna and tranquility for their visitors.

VILLA HERMOSA: Typical regional food restaurant, offers recreational areas such as a pool and sports area.
REFUGE KERENDA HOMET: Interesting and attractive forest reforested with fruit trees and timber trees, garden of medicinal plants and interpretive trails through the forest
AMAZON SHELTER: It is a rescue center for wild animals, where shelter is given to those animals in the area that have been victims of abuse and are in recovery.
The Sandoval Lake is located 1 hour by water from the city of Puerto Maldonado, in the Tambopata National Reserve. In addition to its exuberant vegetation, it is a wildlife sanctuary (river wolf, black caiman, several species of macaws, turtles and cranes among others). A reserve of biodiversity with more than 1,000 species of birds.
It houses several endangered species, particularly the river wolf. It is also a good opportunity to see the hoatzin, a strange and ancient Amazon bird with an archaic aspect.
The walk from the control post to the lake is 3 km (1 hour approximately).
